I had the opportunity recently to visit the village of Tende, France.  Tende is located in the Alps about 90 minutes (by train) north-east of Nice.  It is a popular location for outdoor activities throughout the year.  The village is built on the side of some fairly steep hills and is criss-crossed by a number of small, winding streets.
